Ear : Ear wax occurs naturally in our ears to protect the fine tissues of the ear drums. Our bodies naturally reabsorb and replace ear wax, and one should not ever need to clean our ears with a foreign object (such as a qtip).
However, sometimes, people experience obstruction due to ear wax build up. This can be remedied with otc warm flushes or ear drops meant to soften the wax and be flushed out.
The ear wax build up can perforate (or poke a hole) in a person's ear drum, causing a white, pus like or bloody drainage. If this has occurred, it can be very painful. You will need to see your doctor for a more prescriptive regimen for alleviating the ear wax in your ear.
Also, some people are sensitive to the chemicals in the otc ear drop products, causing rash and skin irritation, which may also explain the blood in your ear.
Either way, it sounds like you suffer from a build up of wax in your ear and are seeking a solution. Otc solutions are okay, but since you are experiencing a reaction or trauma (as evidenced by the blood in your ear) you will need to know if this is caused by a skin irritant or trauma to the ear drum. Sure: Not infrequently, a patient comes to the office with muffled hearing and we find that the ear canal is blocked with wax. After flushing out the wax, the patient's hearing is normal again. The key is prevention, meaning such a patient can use a few Debrox ear drops each month for a few months (or longer if needed), after getting both ears examined and cleared of wax.

Maybe /  not: If the drops dissolved the wax it may have drained onto a pillow or sheets in the night. Sometimes it takes multiple treatments to get it all, so some may still be left.

Stop and flush: After using an OTC cerumen drop like Debrox the softened wax needs to be removed from the ear canal. This can be done at Home with a bulb syringe or by your doctor using irrigation or suction. Good luck!

See a doctor: I recommend you see a doctor to get it check. It might be the wax is still there and you did not completely removedit. If you did, then you possible need a hearing test.

R/O CERUMEN IMPACTION: Cerumen production is normal and can increase during particular seasons. You need to be examined and reevaluated most doctors have the tools to remove cerumen. Over the counter I prefer the Murine Ear wash system. If symptoms persist or worsen see prompt medical evaluation.

Syringe may help: They sell cleaning kits for ears in the pharmacies which have large syringes. I always advise to use warm soapy water for these types of cleanings. At the same time, I advise caution when doing anything with the ear canal &amp; if you're not sure of what you are doing or if things are going the right way then you should stop and see your doctor. Much better that than to cause any sort of complication.
