Skin & hand washing: Washing hands too frequently and/or using harsh soaps can worsen or even provoke eczema eruptions.  In one form of hand eczema called dyshidrotic dermatitis, there can be small clear fluid filled vesicles under the skin, giving a "tapioca pudding" appearance.  Washing hands too much does not give rise to warts.

MAYBE: To get HIV, you need close contact with someone with the disease, and some access to their body fluids. It is more likely to pass in any activity where friction/minor trauma is involved. Certainly if the contact source has HPV warts, s/he may have another STD.Skin tags occur in the absence of a STD and have no relevance to this discussion.

Get HPV vaccine: Skin warts are not a dangerous thing. Even if you transmit these to your partner, these can be treated, though most of the infections are self limited. Do get HPV vaccine to prevent infection with other strains of HPV that can cause more serious issues like cervical cancer.
Have a healthy diet, exercise 30 minutes/day, drink plenty of water daily so your urine is mostly colorless, have safe sex.

Warts : Warts are viruses, transmitted from person to person by touch.  They can be very hard to get rid of.  Ultimately, your body needs to recognize that they are foreign, make antibodies to them and destroy them.  Options include the topicals as you have done over the counter.  Other physician administered treatments include: cryotherapy with liquid nitrogen, a pulsed dye laser treatment, co2 laser treatment or physically having the warts cut off.  Many times, i suggest patients "pare down" their warts using a nail file and then apply the topical medications that i prescribe- typically veregen (sinecatechins) (green tea extract) or imiquimod, topical vitamin a's may help by irritating the area.  If your over the counter treatments aren't working, your next stop may need to be a doctors office, call beforehand for pricing- i never give guarantees with warts as they are very challenging, and even in the best hands may not respond to treatments.

See dermatologist: sounds like form of eczema, called dyshidrotic eczema. see dermatologist to confirm and receive Tx which prob will be topical steroid creams. There also might be some form of allergy to products used or even gloves.

Best to be treated: Other kinds of skin bumps can look like warts, and nongenital warts are uncommon in adults -- so maybe those weren't warts. Although your immune system will eventually clear your genital warts, it can take months or years. Much better to see a doctor or clinic and have them treated. Good luck!

Various: Warts are viruses and, although dermatologists use various treatments on them, such as liquid nitrogen, salicylic acid, canthacur, etc., there is no guarantee that the virus will respond to any destructive method.  There is a prescription anti-viral cream that is usually effective called imiquimod, but it is expensive.

Accepted Answer

Acid and scraping: A otc acid and scraping with a pumice bar will help.  If not, you can use the liquid nitrogen, liquid nitrous oxide (this is what i like to use). You can also try oral cimetadine (400 mg three times a day for 12-16 weeks). This is very safe and had the side effect of getting rid of warts for many people of adult size and weight (japma november 1, 1995 vol. 85 no. 11 717-718 ).

Wart: If the wart is at the front edge of the nail then topical chemical applications may be effective.  If the wart is too far under the nail then partial removal of the nail may be necessary to be able to remove the wart.

Yes: There are medications for plantar warts- salicylic acid is one of them and is generally available in a pharmacy. You can also try applying apple cider vinegar to the warts and covering it up with duct tape for a few days and peeling them off with that,
