Clear liquid=blood: plasma without RBCs or lymphatic fluid. The external flow helps keep out, wash out bacteria. Cleaning with soap &amp; water every few hours  best; possibly also topical antibiotic reapplied after washing may help. Best: keep area dry (bacteria cannot grow without water), bandage to soak up moisture; replace as soon as wet, keep visually checking for possible infection &amp; get exam worthy your trust.

Finger wound: Any injury which results in continued discharge should be seen by dermatologist. If you have not seen a dermatologist to diagnose this problem, you definitely should.

why is my blood watery? i cut my self and instead of my blood being dark red, it was lighter than usual and became quite liquidly, it wasn't as thick and instead seeped a lot of clear liquid and little blood, i'm a healthy male with no known issues?

: In addition to red blood cells a laceration will also secrete white blood cells and serum.  Being very anemic or having a low platelet count are other causes of thin blood. I suspect your normal blood was diluted by serum.

Natural Process: When there is injury to our skin, inflammation occurs which means the area becomes red, warm, tender and with swelling.  The swelling occurs under the skin layers and then can leak out of an open wound.  The fluid contains water, protein, electrolytes and cells that give it color.  This is a natural process and aids in healing.  As it heals, the drainage will decrease.  Keep it covered.

Probably ok: There will be some pain after injury, even a clean cut.  This should diminish in a couple of days.  As long as the site is not red or draining pus, and the pain limited to the cut, it should be okay.  Keep it clean and protected from further injury.  If in doubt, see your md.

Normal healing: When tissue is damaged , the vessels leak fluid which helps to bathe the tissue, and helps to immobilize it for  faster healing.  The fluid also has some anti-infective properties.  When you squeeze it, since there is an external opening, then fluid will come out to some degree.  This is normal.

Serous fluid: This drainage is probably serous fluid; it's usually not a worry and often occurs after intensive scratching. During sleep people will often scratch itchy bites without recollection of having done so. I am prone to do this to bites on my ankles with my toenail. If excessive redness or pus (milky fluid) occurs, see your doctor. Cortisone cream helps with itching. Bandaging at night can help too.
