to dr.clarence grim, i mean a common bile duct obstruction of a gallstone, what kind of structural changes can it cause in a short term obstruction?

Accepted Answer

: Fibrosis, steatosis and is a risk factor for cancer of the bile duct and gallbladder which can spread to liver and cause structural change. A high bile pressure behind the stone, which has likely been in gall baldder for a long time, can cause structural damage as well. Usually clears with stone/gall bladder removal. Time will tell.

26 weeks preg have high blood pressure took 24 hr urine my protein was 161mg and creatine clarence was 200 ml.. is this a kidney disease or what?

Proteinuria: Up to 200mgs of proteinuria per 24 hours is considered the normal limit in pregnancy so you may be ok there. However high blood pressure in pregnancy is worrisome, needs to be treated and must be closely monitored by your obstetrician. He/she will can advise you about proteinuria.

GI bleed: If you mean that you are having black in vomit and stool then it could be serious.  This is most likely due to bleeding in your gastrointestinal (GI) tract, most likely your stomach.  This can be very serious and even life threatening.  GI bleeding is often related to drinking alcohol.  You should see a doctor, especially if this occurs repeatedly or if you feel light headed.

Dysthymia: And if it's really grim, depression. Before your self-diagnose mental illness, there are some entities to rule out, including medication effect, hypothyroidism, and porphyria.

this is a bit grim but is it normal for poo too smell strong after bad constipation i had surgery 8 days ago and its given me severe constipation and when i just went now the poo got stuck and it took a while for it to finally come through?

: The off gassing of feces (smell) will depend on the germ action on the debris as it transits the gut. More gas=more time inside. I wouldn't lose any sleep over this as it should pass as you become regular.

this is in response to dr. grims answer asking for normal values ranges for my endocrinologist test results. i believe that the t4 of 7.7 is wnl and the tsh of 0.39 is slightly below the lowest number of the beginning of the normal range.

Thyroid functions: Labs can have different  ranges.  Normal for T4 is usually around 4.6 to 12 ug/dl.   TSH usually ranges from around 0.4 to 4.0 mU/L.  Not sure if this is helpful or not.

Exercise!: Nice & easy, no rush. Rome wasn't built in a day. Talk to your family physician to make sure you're healthy enough to start exercising. Then start off with just a bit, heck, even 30 seconds or a walk around your house is more than most. Then do 1 minute or walk twice around house tomorrow.  And 2 minutes or 3 times around the following day. You get the idea. Do more & more as tolerated. Good luck!

To gain one pound in a week, eat 500 calories each day over what you normally eat, and keep your activity level about the same. But eat nutritious food, not "junk." think healthy smoothies, yogurt. Adding a bowl of oatmeal each day is a start.
