No change: While there is a small subset of patients that can have chronic inflammation of their appendix, it should impact the ability to pass gas. The most common treatment for this would be removal of the appendix laparoscopically by an experienced general surgeon. Hope this helps!

Many causes: A reduced appetite can be caused by a variety of conditions some relatively benign others more serious. Chronic gas and the associated pain/discomfort can reduce your appetite. Try taking an over the counter medication called simethicone aka gas x. Be well.

i was exposed to chronic gas poisoning. my carboxy hb test came back 3x the reference range. can someone please tell me what this means please?

CARBON MONOXIDE: Carbon monoxide poisoning follow up with your doctor. It is treated  with high flow oxygen or HBOT. You need to have your home and work evaluated for where exposure occurred ASAP!

It may be a: Digestive disorder.  Your doc or a gastroenterologist will tell you.  Alternatively, you may have a food allergy.  You can be tested for both of the above.  They will ask about your diet.  Some things are harder to digest than others and in that process bloating and gas is the byproduct.   Peace and good health.

Depends on size: And location of diaphragmatic defect.  If it is large and located in left side, yes, surgery might be necessary.  Consult with a surgeon for specific advice in your case.

Evaluation: Since you are in the post operative time only 1 month out from surgery it would be a good idea to schedule a follow up with your surgeon for an evaluation

Question: You have constipation and gas? Your question is not clear.
You can use OTC antiacid mediciation and I strongly suggest a GI evaluation. If you have already been diagnosed with GERD, you will need to be tested for h. pylori and treated with PPI therapy.

Gas: Ranitidine is used to stop acid production by the stomach. Simethicone is used to prevent gas formation when taken 1/2 hour after a meal. Ranitidine dose should be reduced in the presence of kidney failure.

Hyperthyroidism: Hyperthyroidism can result in many symptoms including nervousness and tremor, mental fogginess and poor concentration, menstrual changes, racing heartbeat,and heat intolerance.  Symptoms associated with the GI tract include frequent bowel movements, diarrhea and increased appetite  Other serious stomach and intestinal  conditions can cause your symptoms.  You need a workup.

Absolutely, but...: Feeling full of "gas" may reflect malabsorption of food (like gluten, lactose), intake of poorly digested food, or choosing foods known to promote gas (beans, fizzy drinks).  Sometimes its more complicated--a stomach emptying too slowly, bacterial overgrowth syndrome, delayed intestinal function, partial obstruction from any cause, infection, rectum problems, and pelvic pathology outside the gut.
