i had a 103 fever ~ 3-6 days after conception. tylenol (acetaminophen) brought it down, but unsure how long i had fever (1 day). concerned re: adverse effects on baby?

Fever: No effects for baby. If fever is persistent then follow up with doctor to find source. Maternal infection more worrisome for baby then fever

i have ms. i'm having really bad headache since sunday. my neuro np told me to take tylenol (acetaminophen) and drink tea. not working.  otc meds not helping!

Trip to the ED?: Luckily, most urgent care centers and emergency departments are well stocked with pain medications which even your neuro NP may not be able to easily prescribe.  Consider a trip to the ER.  They may want to obtain a repeat MRI or perhaps even an LP if they feel it necessary.  They should be able to properly evaluate and treat your headache.

i have ms and trigem neuralgia and have terrible pain. tried gaba, baclofen, norco, (hydrocodone and acetaminophen) elavil, tegretol, otc, etc...what is the best pain med for this?

Trigem neuralgia: There is no best pain med. Short term certainly stronger opioids may be tried but this is not a long term solution. You need to see someone about getting some nerve blocks etc.. Ultimately if nothing works then you have to consider a microvascular decompression of the nerve.

are there any adverse effects for a women (22) using an iud as her contraceptive before she has children?

There should not be.: The current iuds should not affect the ability to conceive provided the are replaced on schedule!

Very cautiously;: There're some possible side effects especially with long-term use.

children up to 4 years old we have to give 10 g of vitamin d3 daily, but we still give this to our 5 year old son every day. could this have adverse effects? could we better stop to give it? we also give him vitamin c supplement daily, is this ok?

Accepted Answer

: Vitamin C &amp; D are often added or already present in food in our regular diet (i.e. cereal, milk, orange juice). The Vitamin D recommended dietary allowance (RDA) for children 4-8 years old is 600 IU/day (15µg). The upper limit is 3000 IU/day. For Vitamin C the RDA is 25 mg/day, the upper limit is 650 mg/day.

Precautions: If the elder is properly hydrated, not on medication that may suppress perspiration, can communicate if s/he experiences discomfort, a short walk is likely to do more good than harm.

could you take both sanctura and fosomax without any adverse effects?

Accepted Answer

Should be OK: Hi. There should be a problem using both drugs. Remember, you MUST take Fosamax (alendronate) once/week on an empty stomach with water (only, and lots of it). I recommend waiting 60 minutes (not 30) before any other medicines, food, or beverages, and in that hour, have MORE water. Fosamax taken properly should have no interaction with Sanctura.

Diazepam: Drowsiness, fatigue, constipation, ataxia (loss of balance).

Accepted Answer

Bloating: Abdominal bloating, cramps and loose bowel movements. Some patients do not like the sweet taste.
