had lots of temporary tooth decay when i was child..now i am 20 yr old & i didn't pay much atention to my teeth when my parament teeth evolved, i was very much careles.. recently i had 3 teeth cavity...if i become more careful can i stop future decay?

: You can help arrest the formation of future decay, but whatever damage has been done due to your neglect will need to be addressed now. See your dentist for an exam, followup with recommended care, and brush/floss your teeth thoroughly twice a day. Refrain from sugary foods and drinks. Visit your dentist at least twice a year for a check up and hygiene visit.

Its not just sweets: There are many reasons why someone may get cavities and some not. There teeth may be stronger, they may remove plaque better, and its not how much as it s how  often you eat, drink or suck on any carbohydrate. So, watch your frequency of carbs, brush and floss better and use Fluoride to toughen teeth and chew sugarless gum after meals.

Yes: fruits are high in natural sugars and often very acidic. Enjoy in moderation but eat vegetables in a 3:1 or 5:1 ratio. Drink water and avoid carbonated beverages, sugared coffe/tea, sports drinks and energy drinks. Brush well at least twice a day and floss daily. See your dentist regularly as recommended based on your particular dental health concerns and needs.
