Chicken : Chicken pox is pretty miserable - I am so sorry your little one has it!  if your child is inconsolably crying, then you should contact his doctor.  His doctor may want to examine him to make sure he doesn't have chicken pox involvement of his eyes, ears, or other more concerning and painful areas.  Having him seen sooner rather than later is the safest way to go since he can't tell you what hurts.  Good luck!

Hot compresses: Chicken pox can affect the eye lid but there is no statistically significant relationship between eyelid rash and ocular involvement. However pts with chicken pox can get conjunctivitis, uveitis, cornea infections from the virus; if pain develops or decreased vision, see an eyemd. Otherwise hot compresses/soaks will help.

Chicken pox: If you're not experiencing eye pain or visual disturbance, I recommend warm compresses to the eyes. If eye symptoms are more than simple redness, are associated with facial or eye pain or swelling, consult an ophthalmologist for evaluation and treatment advice as the virus may be involving the eye and requires treatment preferably by an eye specialist.

Varacella: You get chicken pox once but the second part of the disease, zoster or shingles can happen multiple times.  It definitely can cause eye and ear problems in general but not specifically in pregnancy,  If you are exposed to chicken pox or shingles while pregnant it can be very dangerous especially if you get it in the lungs.

: Are you certain about her test result? Chickenpox testing is rare. The same virus causes shingles (herpes zoster), which is not transmitted by sex. However, genital herpes can be misdiagnosed as shingles in the genital area. If her positve test is for actually herpes simplex virus (HSV), then ineed you coud have it as well, despite condoms. Clarify the test done and discuss with your doctor.
