Costrochondritis: Generally chest pain when sleeping on the side is musculoskeletal in origin and does not signify heart disease. The only worrisome problem could be reflux, which may be causing pain in your espohagus when you lie on your side.

Chest pain: At 19 sharp chest pain likely related to some type of pleurisy or chest wall pain.  GERD another possibility.  although less likely a more serious cause would be PE.
Usually at your age a bop and smoking would need to be involved. cardiac can be cause, but usually associated with drug use at your age.

Chest pain: Such positional chest discomfort along with a burning sensation, without cough or shortness of breath, may be from GERD but could also be from pressure on a nerve root by a disc or bone spur at the lower neck or upper spine vertebrae. Another possibility is left rib pathology. I would start with an evaluation by your physician who will order tests and referral to specialists if deemed advisable

Chestpain: Not all chestpains are from heart, as you are not getting the pain with your exercise probably not from the heart. It could be related to the stomach and esophagus with irritation/ulcer  could muscular, from the bones and cartilage in the chest area. Have it examined to get the right treatment.  Light smoking or heavy smoking not really going to help any of these problems.

: This is a rather nonspecific symptom. I would start with an examination by your MD  of your breasts, rib cage, lungs &amp; heart. It could be a.musculoskeletal issue if rib cage tenderness is found.  There may be some breast tenderness from fibrocystic changes. Pains can come from a heart problem (serious!), neck and shoulder muscles, the ribs and their joints, the lungs inside the chest, etc... If one feels his pain is coming from the heart, has a chest tightness, some difficulty breathing, or has past heart disease, he can call 911 to go to the E.R. now.

: The stomach entrance is located just behind your heart. Things like caffeine &amp; nicotine prevent adequate closure of this fold in the tube allowing irritation/pain from backwash of acid stomach contents. Laying down creates pressure that aggravates this. It can also interfere with sleep.

hello, the back of my neck has been in constant pain when i'm not sleeping. it's usually on the left side and i also experience chest pain constantly, pressure on my head, dizziness, shortness of breathe, anxiety, and general discomfort.

Doctor can evaluate: Chest pain in a guy in his early 20's can be an emergency, depending on various details. Often, the ER doctor needs to evaluate. The doctor evaluates for asthma, heart problem, pneumothorax (collapsed lung), myocarditis, etc...  If it turns out to be rib cartilage pains (costochondritis) or heartburn (gastric reflux), that can be treated too. A heart attack would be ultra rare at college age.
