Less likely : More likely causes at your age following an infection, include musculoskeletal pain and pleuritis. Please see your Pediatrician for follow up if not improving.

Myocarditis: Lifestyle changes such as consuming a low-salt diet and not drinking alcohol may help in the management of myocarditis. 

 Antibiotics help treat the bacterial infection causing myocarditis. Corticosteroid drugs may be prescribed to reduce inflammation of the heart wall.  Specific medications to control arrhythmias and heart failure should be discussed with a cardiologist.

Chest pain: If you have shortness of breath associated with your pain, you probably need the chest xray your doctor advised sooner rather than later.  But if it remains the same, you could wait a bit until it's safe to arrange an outpatient chest xray with your doctor's guidance.

That secondary to pericarditis, with non-steroidals. Pain from a fractured rib would be treated with non-specific pain medications such as Codeine for instance. So it depends on what is causing the pain.
