A member asked:

Saw a doctor 6 days ago about discomfort under my left rib cage and a tight chest and got medication for inflammation. he said i'd need an x-ray if things don't change. it hasn't changed. what do i do? could it be a collapsed lung?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Chest pain: If you have shortness of breath associated with your pain, you probably need the chest xray your doctor advised sooner rather than later. But if it remains the same, you could wait a bit until it's safe to arrange an outpatient chest xray with your doctor's guidance.
