Irregular Periods: you need to be seen and evaluated for the cause of your irregular and heavy periods.  You will need at least a physical exam, lab evaluation, an ultrasound, and possibly further testing.

Right flank pain?'s: "Right lower flank pain" may be caused by ovarian cysts in the right ovary.  See your gyn physician for a pelvic ultrasound and exam, as other causes may exist.  Discuss low dose oral bcp's (if no contraindications) as an alternative to repetition of this pain if the U/S is positive.

Not quite: The leap year is just a calendar adjustment. There are leap years on the solar calendar (the regular one we all use; adds 1 extra February day in a leap year) and also on the lunar calendar (lunar leap years add 1 extra month). Because your body has no idea what calendar you are using, periods keep on their pattern regardless of calendar changes. You just have to get used to the new numerical day.

Many options : Irregular periods are one of the most common problems obgyns treat. If this is one time problem it usually resolves on its own. If this is a recurring problem you should be evaluated. Infections &amp;  hormonal changes can cause spotting. If there is a concern for pregnancy then do  a home pregnancy test .  There are many options available to help regulate the menstrual cycle. Schedule a visit.

It's hard to say what's normal, as every woman has a cycle that is unique to her. A normal menstrual cycle could be as short as 22 days or as long as 36 days.

Period: Given your stated age, it is likely that the changes in your cycle are peri menopausal. This is a normal occurrence you may start to have missed periods and longer intervals in between periods. You may also start to experience hot flashes, mood swings etc. talk to your doctor about what to expect. Take care!

ever since me and my hubby started trying for a baby my period cycle has changed. in the past it has been pretty average 30 day cycles. now after trying it's been 50+ day cycles every month. we've been trying for 8 months, maybe more. is this normal?

: No 50 days cycle is not normal and that makes conception difficult, so I suggest to see a specialist to figure out what is the problem with your cycle and help you restore a normal one ,otherwise the chances are very slim to become pregnant.

Varies: Norethisterone is a progestin, similar to the progestone your body makes after ovulation. How it affects your period depends on when you take it and for how long. If you take it throughout the month it will normally make your period lighter. If you take it after ovulation, it may delay your bleeding. If you just take for a couple of days, you're likely to bleed after stopping it.

Taking: Regular vitamins should not change your period. The exception would be if you were seriously malnourished with depletion of vitamins and minerals.
