please advise what is better: cetylpyridinium chloride or sodium fluoride?

Better for what?: They are different compounds with different applicability. Cetylpyridinium chloride is a cationic quaternary ammonium compound used in some types of mouthwashes, toothpastes, lozenges, throat sprays, breath sprays, and nasal sprays. It is an antiseptic that kills bacteria and other microorganisms. Sodium Fluoride is used to make the surface of a tooth less soluble in acid.

is cetylpyridinium chloride safe? i have mouth spray that has 0.075% in it and it says 2 sprays but i do 5 or more. is this bad? can i use everyday?

Use as directed...: It is relatively safe, but does have some side effects (i.e., brown stains between the teeth and on the surface of teeth, skin irritation/rash, nausea/vomiting, etc., etc.). It is is also found in some pesticides.
Unless you are a physician and are changing the prescribed dose, you should use it only as rx'd by your doc or as instructed on the bottle...

: This is harmless. You wouldn't want to drink a whole bottle, but small amounts are entirely safe. Of course nobody would produce or market a mouthwash if swallowing some of it were harmful!

Better ways: There are better ways to lighten your teeth than using this mixture.  It will not do any harm, but it most likely will not be effective either.
 Your dentist can help, you lighten your teeth, or you can try white strips available  over the counter.

Cetylpyridinium: As a general answer, cetylpyridium is not safe for pregnant women.  It can severely damage the liver of the fetus. For oral thrush, gargle with salt water, avoid sweets, eat some plain yogurt every day. If it is really severe, then topical Nystatin (swish and spit).

Potassium Chloride: A supplement for people who do not have enough potassium in the body. This is caused by either taking drugs such as diuretics (water pills) or from certain diseases.

Be Careful: Salt substitutes are loaded with potassium and can cause your potassium to go too high. Speak with your doctor and have it checked.

No-Pain Lidocaine: Yes. I can't think of a reason not,except to mask painful symptoms you've had for some time and haven't seen a doctor for. Uh,oh yes,if used too much it can irritate the skin. It can also mask pain at certain times you should be actually feeling it, if you know what I mean.It's very useful for painful anal fissures or hemorrhoids before definitive treatment.Just don't over-use it to hide something
