i'm 36 yo & for the 5th time since march i have bad cellulitis & ulcers on my leg. i can't afford to be admitted again. do you have any ideas for me?

Recurrent cellulitis: Ok! there are two main questions here. First and foremost, if you are sure it is cellulitis again, then you need treatment. I have treated uncomplicated cellulitis as outpatient. Why do you need admission? Secondly, we need to  figure out why is there a recurrence? Are you diabetic, or immune-compromised, or MRSA colonized?  Answer to second question, will help you avoid recurrence.

Behcet's syndrome: Please discuss your symptoms with your physician as you can benefit from referral to a specialist for it. Behcet's syndrome is treated with medications like steroids, colchicine and other meds that work on patient's immune system.

venous stasis ulcers, cellulitis, finished 3rd antibiotic 10 days ago. pain, swelling, puss & odor, now 100 fever. do i need to go to the er?

Yes: you should be seen urgently, but you need to take care of your venous insufficency issue as this most likely is causing the swelling and not allowing ulcer to close.with an open ulcer you are having repeated episodes of cellulitis. overuse of antibiotics can lead to issues e.g resistance and worse diarrhes

Yes: an ulcer is a crater, cellulitis generally is without skin breakdown. a ulcer can be infected causing a cellulitis

i had some ultrasounds and they reported low pulses in the ankles. i also have diabetes and what looks like starting ulcers and cellulitis. what  doc?

Family DOC 1st: Your family doc can help sugar and cholesterol and to decide who else is needed. Blood sugar needs top control (endocrinologist).  More studies may be needed to show the seriosness & possibly stent obstructions (radiologist)  a vascular surgeon might need to bypass arteries. A wound specialist for sure.A podiatrist for toe nails and special shoes.

No: Black skin is dead skin! Necrotic Skin!
So go back to your doctor for evaluation

Staph and candida ce: Candida infection celllitis in people with normal immune system is not that common.In your case i think staph is the main organism and candida is secondary organism.You need to consult an id specialist and may need IV antibiotic like vancomycine or oral xyvox and anti fungal antoibiotics.

how long should it take for a cellulitus ulcer to heal and disappear?

Varies: In the ideal situation it would take about 10 to 14 days. There are many variables that contribute to the rate of healing for each person. Because of genetics, some people heal faster than others. Chronic diseases like diabetes and peripheral arterial disease can delay wound healing. Poor nutrition and poor wound care can also delay cellulitis and ulcers from healing. Smoking = poor wound healing.

Cellulitis is severe: Cellulitis is an infection. If you are healthy, the infection usually will improve once treatment begins. However, if neglected it can be serious and can spread systemically. 
Go see hour doctor  or other health professional and get an antibiotic  for the infection.

Accepted Answer

Rarely: The infection in severe cases can spread causing sepsis. It is best to treat early with antibiotics so that infection resolves and does cause complications such as scarring, color change or systemic effects.
