Yes and no: Celebrex, (celecoxib) like any anti-inflammatory medication is helpful for any joint pain. However, this entire group of medications have potential serious side effects when used chronically including potential for bleeding and kidney damage. They generally should not be used for prolonged periods of time and should be carefully monitored.

Regularly: The best result for chronic pain is to take the N SAID regularly,not just periodically .

Both should work: They are both nsaids and should work well. Different people seem to respond better to one NSAID vs another.  Try both and see which works for you.

: Yes. Because the topical cream has very little absorption into your blood stream, taking the two in combination is totally fine.

Your doc: Plaquenil may help for joint pain in specific circumstances. Your doc, having good knowledge of your current medical issues would be best to further clarify and prescribe if appropriate.

Not really: If pain is a major source of your anxiety or depression then it would be treating that in a way.  But celebrex (celecoxib) is only an anti-inflammatory.

good evening, i consulted on the 2nd april because my left thumb joint was very painful when i try to carry something. i was given celebrex to finish for a month.the pain still persist, and starts to have a feeling of being burned. pls can you advice?

Orthopedic exam: you may have nerve compression or entrapment: sometimes, an injection of novocaine and a short acting steroid like cortisone derivatives can be very helpful in addition to other oral anti-inflammatory therapy.

All mildly antiin.  : All mildly anti inflamm. Not familiar with acroxia. Anxiety not common with any.

uctd. mtx, celebrex, (celecoxib) plaquenil, and prednisone. after weening off prednisone i feel terrible joint and muscle pain. any adjustments recommend to meds?

Too complicated: It is too complicated to answer your question adequately in this forum. If you feel you're not getting adequate treatment from your physician, find a new one. Prednisone is obviously a drug to be avoided if possible particularly for bone mineral density reasons and many others. This incredibly complicated disease and drug regimen needs to be managed by someone you trust! I hope you feel better
