Accepted Answer

Yes, it could.: Cysts in a sinus can be developmental(you wqere born with it) or as a result of sinus infections(more common). If they are small you can generally just watch them.

i have a large mucous retention cyst in my sinus cavity. what is this, would it cause the headaches i've been having lately, and what's the treatment?

We see them often: Causes of retention cysts are unknown; as much as we think allergy plays a role others appear to have no association. . Usually they aren't painful themselves; but they can enlarge, block passages and contribute to formation of sinus infections, similar to nasal polyps. Headaches? Maybe. Depends. Usually not. Options: oral steroids, surgery, allergy shots; some recommend do nothing. See ENT.

i study now strongly because of exams...i suffer from headache in area of forehead and eyes and ache in nasal cavity in spring..wts the cause to pain?

Accepted Answer

Decongestant : Most pain in or around an eye is from sinusitis or headache.  Pain reliever and decongestant should relieve it.  If not, or if it is getting worse, go see your doctor.  

This could also be referred pain from stress. It could also be due to an eye problem such an inflammation in (called uveitis) or around the eye.  You need to see an eye doctor to really rule this out.

NO: Not sure of the cause of the fainting but not a cyst.  It is not the cause of chronic nasal infections.  It may cause headaches but not your fainting. YOu need to be seen by your doctor for futher eval.

Yes: Yes they can. Deep cavities will cause all sort of discomfort. See a dentist as soon as you can.

See ENT surgeon ASAP: I presume you returned to your surgeon for all the follow-up post-operative visits and everything seemed to be on track at first.  Not sure when this drainage issue started but it is now URGENT when accompanied with a headache. The most worrisome issue is whether you could possibly have a cerebrospinal fluid leak...this would be highly unlikely, but if so, it is SERIOUS. So call your surgeon NOW.

Since : Since he has such persistent symptoms, I am glad that he is going back in to be seen.  He may need a scope procedure to look into the sinus areas and see what the problem is.  I assume he is taking a decongestant as well; if not he should be.  If nothing is seen by scoping him, he may indeed need another ct scan to evaluate his persistent symptoms.

See your Dentist : Sometimes it is because the teeth problem that caused sinus problem and headache. Consult your dentist see if it is the cause.

Deep Decay: The decay in your tooth appears to be deep. The bacteria residing in this cavity are producing acids and toxins that are irritating the nerve (if it is still alive) and the bone surrounding the tooth. The pain impulses are traveling along parallel nerves to the other parts of your head. You need to see a dentist for treatment ASAP

Call your dentist: Does your dentist have an answering service or a machine to relay messages to him/her? Most dentists take emergency calls. If not try another dentist...Get a referral from a friend, neighbor, or family member. Or, call your family doctor for a prescription for an antibiotic.
