Varies widely: Size, symptoms and location are determinants of the behavior of these lesions.  Most concern is bleeding risk which varies widely.  Most doctors monitor these with serial mris.  Surgery is required occasionally for removal.

Vascular: The risk of bleeding from a telangiectasia of the brain with or without AVM is about 0.5 per year according to the Journal of Neurosurgery which followed a population of people aged 14 to 66 for a period of time. The bleeds were less with no AVM. 
The article notes that AVM asssociated with telangiectasia is less of problem than an isolated AVM.

i had brain surgery to remove a cavernous malformation on my brain stem. any idea on how long it will take my eyes to heal?

Depends on healing: MairaQ,

After brain surgery, any new neurologic deficit will heal. The amount of healing depends on how badly brain was injured. 
The duration of healing is easy to figure out. It depends on how rapidly or slowly you are healing. 
If it has been a few weeks since your surgery and your eyes are getting better, then the healing will be fast. If it has been years, the healing will take a long time.

: It is a common vascular lesion in your brain. If you have neurological symptom which is caused by this small CVM, it may need to be fixed. If not, this lesion can be monitored. By Cedars Sinai web:  "if the malformation isn't causing symptoms and doesn't appear to be growing rapidly, all that may be needed to regular monitoring. This is done by having MRI scans or CT scans every couple of years."

Not very: Comments I have been able to find suggest that radiosurgery is not very effective for treatment of cavernous malformations.

Yes: Most of them are bening, the problem with these malformation are the complications it could cause like rupture and hemorrhage or thrombosis, this meaning clotting of the blood in those places where the blood flow slows.
Visit a neurosurgeon to see evaluate your treatment options which depends on the size and location of the malformations.
Look for treatment and follow your doctor recommendations.

No need to worry: NO.  This is more of an anatomic variant and should have no symptoms, no problems, and no effect upon your life.  It was found by "accident" as you said.  You should not worry.
