Sonogram report: It is important after a radiologic test is done that you meet with the doctor who can interpret the results for you in the proper clinical context. Without reviewing the report and the patient history we will not be able to tell you the answer. Her vaginal discharge can be evaluated during that visit as well

Mmmmm: Have not heard that term but the entire area is more vascular during pregnancy and hence may be ?"swollen" more than the norm.

May need examiantion: It seems like you are referring to your Groin area where lymph nodes are normally situated. If there is any infection or inflammation in the leg or lower abdomen, these nodes can enlarge temporarily. If the welling is progressive and does not settle down in 2-3 weeks, you need to see your doctor  for a medical examination.

Yes: Inflammation of the female pelvic anatomy can have "referred pain " to the low back area. This is typical in the menstrual cycle.

: Almost certainly this wasn't HIV, which doesn't cause one node after another to become inflamed or enlarged. Only several nodes at once, and almost always with fever, sore throat, and/or skin rash.  However, this question suggests you are worried and might have been at risk -- therefore, you should be tested for HIV, regardless of these nodes. Better safe than sorry!

Yes: Yes if persistent. Especially if they are associated with symptoms such as fever, night sweat, weight loss, etc and no other causes to explain. In the younger age group, germ cell tumors can also be a possibility. Of course, they are many benign reasons. My point is that persistent swollen lymph node is a concern and should be evaluated by doctor.

Ovarian?: Op if you still have one or both ob ovaries, it could be that. It could also be bowel or bladder related.  You need to see your GYN to get evaluated.

i have swollen lymph nodes under my armpit and my groin. i've also had sharp pain around my ovaries and back pain, not period. what could cause this?

Many Causes: There are many causes of swollen lymph-nodes.  The most common is some type of infection by a bacteria or virus.  More serious examples of this are STDs, Infectious Mononucleosis and HIV.   They can also be caused Rheumatoid Arthritis, Lupus and cancer.   Its important  to have them evaluated if they are persistent.

: No, HIV cannot do this. But if you might have been exposed or for any reason are worried about having HIV, have a blood test.
