what causes scar tissue to form on cervix? can you feel it if u have it?  how do u know if u have it? i felt a rough patch on the side of mine.

Injury or infection: Including prior surgery or birth trauma or stds. Have your gynecologist perform an exam and possible pap smear or biopsy.

Probably not: Miscarriages or birth can cause scar tissue on the cervix but don't go trying to diagnose yourself.  There are other things it could be.  You should go see your gynecologist.  You wouldn't call your plumber and say, "there's some new thingy hanging off the kitchen faucet that wasn't there last month- isn't it just mineral build-up?"  no!  so why do it with your body?

Ask doc : Simply ask the doctor if you have scar tissue. They can tell by looking.

Depends: If it is completely blocked there will not be any flow, and blood can back up in the uterus causing pain and other symptoms.  If there is a partial blockage then periods can still occur.

Anything possible : The situation you propose is certainly possible but it is not likely that a doctor would want to test your theory. If your theory is incorrect then it could result in a loss of the pregnancy.

Not possible: Scar tissue can be reduced by excision or other scar reduction techniques but it can never be removed only replaced with possibly a "better" scar.

Unusual: Unusual situation that you could suddenly develop new scar tissue after 3 years. There are few nerve fibers in the cervix, so it is not typical for you to have so much pain. I would encourage you to investigate this further.

See GYN: your GYN have many ways to treat this,it could BE office procedure,or it might required a trip to out patient surgery center, if anesthesia is required.

You history suggests an incompetent cervix which can be sutured closed at the next pregnancy if needed.
