Need to know it what was measured is Estradiol, or estrone.
Also when the blood sample was taken, day of the cycle...

See endocrinologist: Dhea isn't a hormone we typically measure at random because it isn't as reliable as the longer 1/2 life of dheas.  Likewise, we usually don't measure total estrogen as it isn't helpful.  Dhea is most reliable when compared before and after IV acth during stim testing around other hormones. Adrenal insufficiency can't be identified with a random dhea.

PCOS: PCOS can increase androgens in patients regardless of their weight. The effects on Estrogen are less clear as these levels fluctuate and typically would not be tested in PCOS. The LH and FSH levels are checked but not Estrogen. The effects of Phytoestrogens such as soy on the risk of breast cancer are debatable. There is not specific recommendation for PCOS patients to avoid them

Many : Not ovulating, premature ovarian failure, turners syndrome and many other conditions.  If you know someone with symptoms of low estrogen levels then have them seek medical attention asap.

Many possibilities: Simply not having periods may lower estrogen. That may be from premature ovarian failure, or  hormone treated endometriosis (gnrh);  found in association with scoliosis and diabetes. Low estrogen times of the cycle seem to be associated with greater incidence of post traumatic stress,  thinking backwards, there may be neuro-hormonal signals that suppress estrogen levels. Ob/gyn eval or endocrine.

Not estrogens: All women have estrogen and it is unlikely your levels are higher than that of other women.  Although changes in estrogen levels (eg menopause) can certainly affect mood, estrogen levels should not make you dislike people.

It varies: Very high estrogen levels may be a sign of ovarian or adrenal tumor. In general estrogen levels vary with the menstrual cycle. Too much estrogen may cause symptoms such as breast tenderness, weight gain, bloating, water retention, irregular uterine bleeding, headaches/migraines, abnormality of the uterus (hyperplasia) which can lead cancer. Some literature suggests anxiety and depression, etc

With increased level: Of estrogen the periods are genarally either heavier or longer but generally not lighter and longer.  That may be just a variation or you may have a small uterine fibroid that may be revealing itself in this way.  It can be difficult to explain why one is having changes in duration of menses but see your doc if concerned.  Good luck.

i heard your body converts tesosterone to estrogen when you have high levels. for this reason would a teenager benefit from an estrogen blocker?

Not true: Estrogen blocker might be alright if in fact body converted t -&gt; e. Ur possible confused by congenital  adrenal problem (hyperplasia) where there is an enzyme deficiency in production of cortisol which causes overproduction of a testosterone-like hormone.
