Inflammation: The inflammation hypothesis of depression is just that -- a very plausible, but not completely proven hypothesis. Early stages of inflammation may not show up on an MRI because physical structures like myelin and nerve cells have not been damaged to the point it can be seen anatomically. Change in functional status of these cells and their components precedes anatomical change or damage.

See a doctor: People tend to focus on a medical issue when they feel bad and not on other problems. Brain inflammation usually causes neck and back stiffness and a severe headache. i was placed on prednisone  for severe  brain fog that came with post covid and it all cleared up back after off. inflammation cause? im  back on 10 mg which helps. is there a good way to taper off of this dose?

i had a brain mri that showed inflammation on a small part. i will seeing a neurologist. my gp said nothing to worry about. what can cause this? im severely anxious and my body feels heavy and weak. and feel like i'm.moving in slow motion?

: A “small part” covers a lot Of territory in the brain. The clues you have given us about what you are talking about are not good enough fo me to be able to help. U can NEVER set us too much detail.  Try again. Better yet talk to the Dr who ordered it and has seen it.

Petrous bone: Sometimes incidental findings get that name because they do not correlate with symptoms.  It's hard to answer your question with only part of the information.

What do you think explains inflammation of the petrous bone, and what are the symptoms?  Perhaps this question could be- "I have symptoms x and y, and a finding of petrous bone inflammation on MRI and CT.  What treatment should I have?"

Meningitis: This can be very mild with headache to severe and lifethreatening with high fevers and comas.  Most of the time this depends on the cause of the meningitis wether it be viral, bacterial.

No evidence on that: There is no reliable scientific evidence which links trans fat to specific changes in personality such as irritability and anger. There is certainly no neurological evidence by imaging studies or physical signs that any type of inflammation occurs in the brain.
