Ankle sprain: Ankle sprain, ankle arthritis, achilles insertional tendonitis, stress fracture of the ankle, cartilage damage in the ankle joint, torn ligaments on the inner or outer ankle.  Any of these problems can cause pain or symptoms at rest or with wt-bearing.  Trust me this is not an all inclusive list of ankle disorders.

can a broken ankle cause peripheral vascular disease?

Accepted Answer

Not really: Not really. Pvd is most commonly caused by atherosclerosis.  The injury which caused the fracture could also have caused injury to the arteries. We see this in patients who have been in car accidents or dislocate their knee.

xray foot/ankle report: slight scattered osteophyte formation is seen with no acute disease. could cavus foot from retinaculum tear cause osteophytes?

Accepted Answer

That would depend: On where the osteophyte was located and which retinaculum was torn. The fact a cavus foot is present has no bearing.

i have bilateral ankle clonus. spine mri was normal. seeing a neurologist soon. could ms-disease cause this by affeting the brain instead of  spine?

Yes: Yes, that is one of multiple causes.  The presence of clonus suggests that you have "spasticity" which is typically associated with some abnormality of the upper motor nerves of the central nervous system; which includes the brain and the cervical and thoracic spine. Edema: Crohn' s disease affects the intestines and doesn't usually cause edema of the legs. However if enough malabsorption or malnutrition causes very low serum albumen,  that is one way edema can develop.

please suggest what type of foot disease or deformity can cause the entire foot to turn inward?

Accepted Answer

There are a few: There are several conditions that can cause the foot to turn inward.  Metarsus adductus is one where the long bones of the foot turn inward.  High arched feet can make the entire foot turn in.  But many times feet turning inward, especially during walking (intoe walking or pigeon toed walking) is often from the leg or the hip.  I recommend seeing a podiatrist for further evaluation.

what causes inflamation in the leg's vein.does it cause pain...? what are the tests needed to examine the disease?

Phlebitis: Yes it can be quite painful even if clots are not being formed. Poor venous circulation, inactivity, having high levels of clotting factors, which may occur naturally, or seondary to  drugs taken. A.Venous doppler will decide if you have venous incompetence and clot.  It cannot diagnose phlebitis per se, unless used wilth a blood tests called d-dimer.

Yes: That can be an indication of low thyroid or vascular insufficiency. If pronounced, should discuss change and concern with your primary Dr for further evaluation.

i have polycythemia but im suffering from leg pain: can my blood disorder be the cause of my leg pain?

Accepted Answer

Yes: Polycythemia can caused sluggish blood flow in your blood vessels. This sluggish blood flow can indeed lead to cramping of the muscles as by products of metabolism are not carted away as efficiently and can build up (things like lactic acid) and cause the cramps. Increase fluid intake, massage affected areas gently, and pause or rest during activity may help.

my dad had perthes as a child, & i have hemihypertrophy w/leg discrepancies as a child. my kid had an osteochondromas removed and now has (hsd) are these disorders connected are caused by same underline condition?
