No: Honestly, most adults with hearing loss need hearing aids.  However, an otolaryngologist (ear , nose and throat specialist) is the best person to diagnose the cause of your hearing loss and make this decision. Sebaceous cyst: Cysts in the earlobe are often quite tender. They can get infected, then the pain is even worse. They are usually treated with antibiotics when acutely infected. But, when they "calm" down, removal is usually accomplished in the office. This does not cause cauliflower ear.  You should see an ENT md to see if it warrants removal at this time

Ear : Ear lobe reduction surgery should be able to be done with an injection of local numbing medicine in an office procedure room setting. If you want you could certainly be sedated, but this isn't usually needed.

Ear lobe reshaping normally can be done in under an hour, depending on what techniques are being used.

Very : Very seldom is the size of the ear diminished during bilateral otopla
sties (ear tucks). Sometimes the ear lobe if too dependent (long) can be revised but not the cartilage structure.  Often times the illusion of "too big ears" goes away when the ears are properly set back to the side of the head.
