can a carpal bossing that occured after an injury cause any other complications or injuries to your hand? i'm asking that, cause mine is pretty painful, both the bump, and the area around the bump. both hurt by itself, but even more to touch?

: Usually carpal bossing can be managed conservatively with splinting  and oral pain medications as needed  .  However , occasionally, due to the severity of symptoms like pain, with inflammation of  tendons ,it might need local steroid injections . Rarely it might need surgery with a wedge resection. It is also important to distinguish it from other conditions like a ganglion cyst.

The abnormality usually in the area of the base of the index and long finger  arthritic part of the joint and the swelling over it is cut out. The skin is then closed. Then dressing is applied.  This is typically an outpatient surgery.

Yes : I have no had it done myself but have done a bunch. It involves a small incision on the back of the hand, the boss is removed. After you can return to light activity in a couple of days full activity in 10 days to 2 weeks.

i went in for a ganglion removal but 2 weeks later found out i had carpal boss removed. its been 4wks still very painful/limited motion is this normal?

Possibly: That's a bony procedure so it could certainly cause pain for several weeks.  At this point you have probably been instructed to begin range of motion - over time, that should help, but may be painful initially.  After surgery, an infection is always a possibility, so see your physician if there you have redness or drainage or fever.

it could: If what you are talking about is a cyst, yes those can comeback unfortunately. The pain and tingling may be due to the cyst putting pressure on one of the peripheral nerves in the area.
