Yes.: If that is the cause use propanalol for short term. Usually it lasts less then a week.

Follow up: A severe headache is always a concern, however when coupled with a major vascular surgery, it is something that should not be ignored.  You should notify your surgeon about your symptoms and follow up.  Best of luck.

We don't know!: What a great question. The truth is we don't really know. There is a suggestion in the literature that chronic migraines may (MAY) be linked to a slightly increased risk of stroke, potentially because of mild long-term damage to blood vessels. But research is ongoing into this question. The best thing to do is to treat the migraines and make sure your blood pressure is under good control.

: No, those symptoms are not correlated with carotid artery stenosis. The ischemic stroke due to carotid artery stenosis causes unilaterally symptoms (loss of motor and/or sensory function) from the opposite side.

on r side of neck i've what feels like very swollen tonsilar or corotid lymph node.  it shrinks at night. could it restrict blood flow & cause stroke?

Unlikely: If would be very unusual for a neck mass to get large enough to compress the main artery going through the neck and then lead to a stroke but having said that i would get the mass evaluate by a physician or ENT doctor to rule out any compression issues plus to make a diagnosis of what this mass might be.

is it a problem if celiac artery stent has severe stenosis? aren't there collateral pathways for blood flow?   my sma has high stenosis but is patent. my celiac stent is almost occluded. i don't understand. i read different opinions on this.

Yes: Yes it is a problem. Celiac artery is the major blood supply for the upper abdomen, including spleen, liver, stomach and pancreas.
If there is not enough blood supply because of the severe stenosis, these organs are not going to function properly and parts of them could actually "die".
The collateral pathways are too small to meet the high blood flow the celiac artery does.

No: The old notion of migraines being caused by variations in blood flow due to arterial constriction and dilation was disproved decades ago. Any pain you're feeling over those places (I suspect your anatomical knowledge needs work) is "referred" from pain-sensitive structures in the cerebral meninges.

Probably ok: It's not cutting off circulation - your carotid artery is a thick walled, high pressure vessel that's not easily compressed. Lymph nodes in the neck are common and usually benign, but you should be carefully examined for other enlarged nodes in less common locations including on a chest x-ray before writing this 2 cm node off. The fact that it's not enlarging is very good.

Accepted Answer

Depends : The reversed blood flow in the carotid usually indicates a narrowing in the vessel closer to the heart. Your symptoms usually indicate if treatment will be needed. At a minimum medical treatment is necessary. For most people the condition ends up in surgery. There needs to be investigation to determine the cause.
