Yes: A cardiac mri/mra is an excellent test to measure the size of the blood vessels in the chest, including the aorta.  If your aorta is dilated, the mra would have demonstrated the dilation.

YES!!: A cardiac MRA was designed to show if there are "blocked" arteries...  And it is never a replacement for an Angiogram

Not so well: The test you want is a CTA (CT angiogram), not an MRA. The reason is-MR acquisition is slow and the heart is a moving structure. 64 slice CT is very fast and can capture details despite cardiac motion. (My opinion: the Mayo clinic is the best in the world! Good choice!)

Both: Both tests are very accurate to diagnose a ventricular septal defect or atrial septal defect.  The MRI of the heart may be easier if you will on the patient not requiring anesthesia as some transesophageal Echo may require. And the MRI is therefore "non-invasive ".  Your physician may prefer one over the other. Best to talk to your doctor. Good luck

PAC : what to do?: Diagnosis of premature atrial complex is an Electrocardiograph diagnosis. Do you feel palpitations and EKG during symptoms have shown PACs? PACs  are  benign but it can cause tachycardia, atrial fibrillation and related ischemia. Avoid alcohol, nicotine  &amp; excess caffeine. Regular exercise, maintaining normal bloodpressurre ,  cholesterol, blood sugar &amp; thyroid functions will decrease above risks.

18 year old comes in with angina symptoms, they have, ecg, stress ecg, cardiac mri&mra, echo, 24h ecg. would you suggest non-cardiac cause mimicking?

Yes: The above test are enough, if negative, to say that the chest pain is not from coronary artery disease and/or any other structural cardiac disease. Chest wall pain/ costochondritis and acid reflux causing esophageal spasm are two possibilities that can mimic a cardiac problem.

Cardiac MRA/MRI: Yes it will show the blood vessels and show the blockage but if seen on mra the blckage, you will still need angiography for angioplasty or stent placement.It is not a good test for congestive heart failure.You need echocardiogram for that.

PVC;s: Many a times this could be quite normal. As long as you have had a full work-up and evaluation.

Plaque detection: CT angio and MRA are capable of detecting plaque in an artery.  Plaque will show as irregularity and varying cross-section.  Whether soft or hard.
