May not be any: Signs and symptoms may not occur till cancer growth is large. Sometimes stool can test positive for blood due to occult bleeding but sensitivity is 50%--colonoscopy is recommended to evaluate further.

how fast can ascending colon cancer (stage 1) spread? to where?

Usually contained: Stage i ascending colon cancer is usually very easily treatable.  Stage i means that it has not spread beyond the colon which is great news.  If it ever does move, it usually moves to the lymph nodes, liver and lung.   This would be detectable by regular scans after the colon tumor has been surgically removed.

No: Adenoma is not cancer but she should be followed and if they become larger she need the biopsy.

: Not necessarily. But with your family history you need a closer followup and possibly genetic testing

None: As long as lymph nodes were negative, exam, carcinoembrionic antigen (cea), and that is all.  No role for ct scans unless exam or CEA is abnormal.  Hope this helps.

29 y/o female, dad - colon cancer, mom- polyps. my 2017 colonoscopy - clear, 2022 repeat - one flat polyp 11mm in ascending colon. waiting on path, but is this concerning based on size/shape? 3yrs too long for repeat? im a scared young mom here?

: At least the flat polyp was taken out so you should not worry too much because your concern does not change the outcome, just patiently wait for the biopsy result.

Concerning: I recommend that a gastroenterologist and an abdominal surgeon collaborate and review these concerning findings with the radiologist. Malignancy of the cecum with lymph node involvement must be a consideration. Occult blood in the stool and the presence of iron deficiency anemia would support this diagnosis. The history of melanoma must be kept in mind,also.

: Diarrhea is a mild adverse effect of Zoloft.
Yes, your symptoms are more consistent with IBS than colon cancer, especially at your age. Most of the colon cancer cases are on the left side (descending colon).

can colitis or any other colon disease present with an inflamed mass outside of ascending colon?

Accepted Answer

Could represent: A bowel perforation and pericolononic abscess or a muscle tumor. I would need more information from the test that demonstrated this mass to be of any help.Need more details.
