Eye Wash: Yes. Of course.  The other option is saline, which is more natural and close to the fluid coating the eyes naturally.

i accidentally got hydrogen peroxide in my left eye.  i flushed it out with water.  is it going to affect or damage my eye or vision?

Accepted Answer

No problem: You did the right thing by flushing out your eye right away.  Hydrogen peroxide can cause a mild keratitis if left untreated but will not enter the eye or cause any permanent change.

Not to worry: You did the exact right thing.  If you got some litter/dust or soap in your eye you might get a little irritation.  If so, flush with some over the counter eye solution.  Infection very highly unlikely via this route.  Thank your cat for being neat and not soiling the top!

You : You can try over the counter tear drops and flush it out well.  If no help, you still need to see an eye doctor who many prescribe an antiinflammatory drops which will ease the discomfort.

Sure: You'd be better served using artificial tears or eyewash. The concentration (osmolarity) in tap water is such that it would probably be irritating to the eyes. Of course, if you get some chemical in there, tap water is better than nothing!

Foreign body: If you do not recall a specific injury or event injuring the eye, then you can try to use preservative free artificial tears like Systane  PF or refresh plus every one to two hours for the next day in the affected eye. If that does not help at all then you should get an eye exam to evaluate your eye for a foreign body or injury

No: Scrubbing bubbles does not use ammonia or other things that are directly toxic to the eye.  The arousal form from pressure can make the eye very red.  If you have flushed your eyes and your eyes are not irritated don't worry about. You have glaucoma so see your ophthalmologist.

Depends: There are many conditions that can cause sudden onset of burning eyes. 
Go to an Ophthalmologist or ER for examination.

: Little or no risk. Urine does not frequently transmit STDs -- in fact, urine is toxic to many of them. And what are the chances the patient has an STD to begin with? It sounds like you may be a nurse or other health care provider? If so, you could discuss this with the clinic's or hospital's infection control professionals. In the meantime, I really wouldn't be at all worried.
