Foreign body: If you do not recall a specific injury or event injuring the eye, then you can try to use preservative free artificial tears like Systane PF or refresh plus every one to two hours for the next day in the affected eye. If that does not help at all then you should get an eye exam to evaluate your eye for a foreign body or injury
