Diet and acne: Certainly a clean diet is good for your skin and overall health, but it is still important to practice good skin care.  Regular exercise can also help.  Acne is very much affected by hormonal cycles, so flare ups will likely still occur, but will possibly be less severe.

Nortriptyline: Nortriptyline is a Tricyclic antidepressant. Ingesting   grapefruit juice or grapefruit can interfere with nortriptyline. However, I have never heard that external products containing grapefruit cause any problems. Double check with your pharmacist - but I don't think the things you bought  will cause any issues. im looking for face wash and body wash and found cetaphil daily facial cleanser, and cetaphil ultra gentle body wash. are there any ingredients in either of these products that cause cancer? are they safe to use for years?

: Any products sold in the USA contains possible carcinogen, the government requires a label of such side effect on the product. I do not think the products you mention carrying that label. Take care.

how effective is neostrata glycolic acid face wash (18%) for grade 2 acne scars?  i underwent 30% salicylic acid peel thrice. not much use . so if the face wash is effective then please suggest a regimen too.

Forget this stuff: Nothing you can do on your own is going to touch the acne scars. I'm sorry your acne wasn't treated as it should have been, but you do have the option of getting seen by a dermatologist or plastic surgeon who may offer laser work, filler, or microsurgery. Best wishes.

Variable: This depends on the type of skin you have.  If your skin is oily, you need something which will reduce the oil. If your skin is too dry, you need something which is less drying.  Overall, Cetaphil may be a reasonable one to start since it is slightly acidic which is considered good for the skin.  The final analysis- this is a matter of trial and error.

Wrong product: Depending on your skin type (dry/oily/combination) the wrong product can make things worse.  

I would recommend consultation with a facial plastic surgeon or dermatologist to help determine the best regimen for your skin type.

Moisturize: Medicated skin care products are notorious for causing red, dry, irritated skin.  Washing with the product less often or changing to a milder formula may help.  Hypoallergenic  noncomedogenic moisturizers such as Cetaphil will help recondition your skin but shouldn't cause break outs.

Moisturize.: Face washes remove protective oils from your skin along with the dirt.  Try applying a light facial moisturizer immediately after washing.
