Yes: Plan B provides effective protection (~88%) against unintended pregnancy if taken appropriately, but it is certainly not 100%. Plan B works primarily by preventing ovulation.  Thus it is less effective if you have already ovulated, though it may still help prevent implantation.

Yes: Yes, regardless of where you are in your cycle or timing of ovulation, Plan B if taken within 72 hours of unprotected or inadequately protected sex will reduce chances of pregnancy (to less than 1%).  The sooner you take it, the better, though Plan B is likely effective even as much as 5 days out.  Of course it's safer to use protection during/before sex, but Plan B is a good plan b when needed.

Plan B ?'s: Taking "Plan B" eleven days before ovulation will not provide adequate (dependable) contraception .  If your period does not occur when expected, wait another 7 days and obtain a serum HCG test to be certain about possible pregnancy.

: Plan B is very effective, particularly if used immediately after unprotected intercourse (the sooner the better), but it is not foolproof. There is still a significant chance of pregnancy if you are ovulating. Needless to say, using effective contraception is the better way to go, although I suspect you already understand that. Plan B: Plan B needs to be taken within 72 hrs of unprotected sex. If you take it within 72 hours after you've had unprotected sex, Plan B can reduce the risk of pregnancy by up to 89%. If you take Plan B within 24 hours of unprotected sex, it is about 95% effective. But you should know that Plan B is not as effective as regular contraception.

: Plan B (Levonogestrel 1.5mg) is to be taken as soon as possible after unprotected intercourse, up to 72 hours. It is more effective the earlier it is taken, especially if one has not yet ovulated. It is less effective in women with a BMI over 30 (obese). Ulipristal (Ella) is a pill that is more effective than Plan B. Copper IUD (Para-gard) is the most effective emergency contraceptive.

Take the test: If you want to know if you are pregnant, take a test. In today's world you do not need to wonder if you are pregnant or not based on symptoms. Pregnancy tests are available at any pharmacy and in minutes you will have your answer. They can detect a pregnancy 7-10 days after conception. The best time to take one is when you miss your period.

No, but...: If  you take your birth control pill reliably, then you won't ovulate. It is unlikely that you will become pregnant. However, if you are not sure, you may take Plan B. One side effect of Plan B plus your birth control pill may be nausea due to the estrogen content of both pills. Hope this helps you!

Effectivness is 72: hours ,  however the effectives tapers off with time from intercourse. So it is most effective the closer taken after intercourse and less effective as time passes. It suppress ovulation if taken before ovulation. If suppression goes away due to time pass and weakened effectiveness of the drug it is possible that the egg come out from the ovary.

i had intercourse last night and he withdrew...do i still need to take plan b or is it really not a big deal? i'm supposed to ovulate in two days

Take Plan B: unfortunately, the withdrawal technique is not really effective since even pre- ejacaculatory fluids form the penis can carry sperm cells.You are close to your fertile time and I would advise Plan B ASAP, unless you want to be called "Mommy".
