Not advisable: You are free to do what you want, but having sex while being treated for a UTI is not smart. First the infection symptoms could be  made worse and the UTI prolonged. Second, the antibiotics may interfere with birth control pills, rendering them ineffective, if you currently take them. As far as cigarettes go, over time they are a known cause of bladder and lung cancer as well as a number of others.

Chlamydia and UTI: Marijuana or other forms of cannabis have no effect on antibiotic treatment for UTI or any other infeciton. Don't worry about it.

: Smoking cannabis has its own side effects and dangers, however I doubt cross reaction with your treatment. It would be helpful to determine if there should be problems if you put the name of the medications you are taking.

That I couldn't say;: perhaps another HT doctor can. I would be more concerned about why your daughter has recurrent UTI's, whether she has vesico-ureteral reflux of infected urine &amp;, if so, what needs to be done to protect her kidneys. Her primary physician or a pediatric urologist can sort this out.

Depends on amount: How much blood? Visible to you, just on a chemical dipstick test, or abnormal # red blood cells on microscopic exam of urine. Only of concern if visible or abnormal cells on micro. Numerous causes: if micro cells, often no serious cause; microscopic disease of kidney tissue; stones, trauma, vigorous exercise/running; tumor/cancer - rare at your age; infection.

: Not safe as marijuana interferes with the metabolism of macrobid. Violent vomiting  as well as dizziness &amp; reduced motor reflexes. can occur using this combination. Doctors are reluctant to give prescriptions for meds to heavy users of weed. Your pharmacist can validate this information.

Pain: You need to see a urologist, recurrent UTI with pain can be secondary to bladder stone, prostate infection, sometimes bladder tumor might present as uti.
Ulatrasound of kidneys and bladder might be a helpful quick screening test.

: I find nothing to support the idea the cannabis would alter the two drugs effectiveness.

starting doxycycline tomorrow for uti. take prozac (fluoxetine) and valium. also smoke marijuana. can these interact with doxy? what about alcohol?

Doxycycline no prob: But, combining Prozac, (fluoxetine) Valium and MJ with alcohol or other central nervous system depressants can cause increased sedation and potentially dangerous respiratory depression and death. You should avoid alcohol altogether.
