Absolutely: I'm sorry you're sick.  Use ice packs, and see a doctor about the vomiting if it doesn't resolve promptly.

Yes: There are large muscles in the abdominal wall, so there is certainly a chance of injuring the muscle by heavy lifting or other strains to the abdomen.  However, abdominal pain should be evaluated by a physician to make sure it is not due to a problem with the internal organs or due to a hernia.

Pulled muscle.: yes you can injury yourself with everyday normal activity if pain does not resolve recommend going to see your local orthopedic surgeon.

Strained hip flexor : it could be that you've strained a hip flexor muscle and with ice, rest and a short course of physical therapy you should improve if a tincture of time doesn't work.

Not likely: A muscle strain in and of itself should not cause numbness.  However, if an associated nerve was stretched, or if there was direct impact to the muscle which may have also impacted a nerve, or if there is significant swelling that could be affecting a nerve, then numbness may result.

Low back pain: There are a number of things we don't recommend, one of which is imaging (xrays, CT scans, MRIs etc) for back pain in 1st 6wks unless have red flag symptoms/signs. Avoid aggravating activities but no bed rest!

i have a muscle strain on the outer side of my left thigh about halfway between the knee and hip. it was started by overuse. what is best treatment?

Outer hip strain: Rest, ice, elevation, NSAIDS( motrin ,aleve (naproxen) if  no contraindications) , massage, possibly muscle relaxant and kinesiotaping.. If knee pain there may be elements of iliotibial band syndrome. .As the acute pain resolves consider  stretches. Follow with doctor/urgent care/ orthopedist.

awoke 4am by pain left abdomen @hip bone v. sharp when touched;like muscle strain  when untouched. constipatd. had it 2x before over afew yrs. sudden onset, days to resolve. saw doc prior: no action/dx?

Constipation: The obvious answer is constipation, but bowel obstruction &an acute process cannot be excluded. You should see your pcp &arrange for a screening colonoscopy after this acute episode subsides. Without fever, it is unlikely to be diverticulitis, but that must be considered. Try a rectal suppository and increase your fluid intake, 2x your usual &get seen this week!

slipped disc, pinch nerve or muscle strain? i have 3 days lower back mild pressure in one point in the hip near spine. on difen b12 and muscle relaxer

Back strain: Probably not a "slipped" disk. This sounds more like a back strain. This should respond to muscle relaxers, NSAIDs, stretches, heat, time and manipulation.
