Can you pull a muscle in your hip area from vomiting?

Absolutely: I'm sorry you're sick. Use ice packs, and see a doctor about the vomiting if it doesn't resolve promptly.

Possibly...: Yes, with retching (dry heaves) and actual vomiting, numerous muscles are involuntarily engaged--most specifically, the muscles in the abdominal wall contract vigorously to create the pressure necessary for vomiting. Other muscles involved in flexion (forward bending) of the hips can also be engaged as one bends forward during vomiting. So, it is possible to pull a muscle in the hip region.
