Depends on med: The frequency depends on the med involved. Some eye meds are used once a day and some at 4/6 /8 or 12 hour intervals. The directions should be on the prescription. If it's not your prescription it is unwise for you to to use it.

Allergic conjuctivitis responds to allergy meds such as Patanol (olopatadine) eye drops or even otc oral meds such as benedryl, zyrtec, allegra, or Claritin (or generics). Hope you are better soon!

Yes and no: Pink eye is caused by a virus that runs a typical course of a few weeks.  There is no cure for pink eye but time.  Antibiotics do not work.  Touching your eyes will transfer the infective virus to other people and surface where it can reinfect you and other people.  Hand washing and using tissues (then immediately throwing them out) is essential.

Pink Eye and Semen: Pink eye, is only a descriptive term for red eyes. In theory if the semen of a man is contaminated with chlamydia, it can cause chlamydial conjunctivitis. If the conaminant is gonococcus it can caus gonorrheal conjunctivitis.

Dry eyes: I you have a very dry eye then its common that your eyes will feel burning, stinging, watery, red and sandy.  Please use artificial tears, heat compressors and wash your lashes with baby shampoo.  Omega 3 essential fatty acid also helps if you take it orally.  Sometime allergy can cause dry eye and sting.

Yes: You can have conjuctivitis where the symptoms mainly consist of a foreign body sensation (gritty feeling) and discharge, but your eyes may be not too pink or red.  But by definition, the word conjuctivits means inflammation of the conjuctiva -- which implies redness.
