Rashes: Are hard to diagnose without being seen. A rash in the inner elbow area could be eczema. You can try coconut oil or aveeno (oatmeal) lotion and see if tat helps. You can also try over the counter steroid creams.  Before you do anything take a picture to show your doctor in case none of the above helps and yo need to be seen, .

Dr. can look at rash: Rashes are hard to describe in words. A doctor has to look at a rash (video may suffice) to see what it might be. Very unusual rashes might need a skin biopsy. For common non-infected rashes such as eczema, mild reactions to plants or chemicals, excessive dryness, or little itchy bumps, some people try hydrocortisone 1% cream for 1 week until the rash can be examined by a doctor.

Give it time: Ringworm, which is actually a fungal infection, usually appears paler or darker than the surrounding skin.  This is a normal part of the healing process following inflammation of the skin.  With time, the color should return to it's previous color.  True scarring would be unusual from a ringworm infection.

The medical term for the condition is tinea corporis. Anyway, there are also other conditions that can cause a darkish patch on one's skin, so one's primary care doctor should take a look. If you have a furry animal a check with the vet may find it. The other two are harder to source. There are also things that may look like ringworm but are really something else.
