why is it that ive shaved my head for years and never had a problem but now i get ingrown hairs all over when hair grows back ive tried everything i can find to stop it. i even stopped shaving for a year started back and still have the problem?

Razor Bumps: Insure you use fresh, sharp blades vice dull blades. If hair is &gt; several mm long – then trim before shaving. Wash area before shaving – warm water helps to soften hair. Use a lubricant when shaving. Avoid using products that contain alcohol or are scented.  Shave in direction of the hair – not against it. Be gentle when shaving – don’t push down too hard. Moisturize skin after shaving.

It will grow out...: ...By itself. Don't pick or squeeze it; that will just make it worse. Warm compresses often help. Prevent further ingrown hairs by shaving with an electric razor, or a single-blade hand razor. (multiple-blade razors shave too close to the skin and create the conditions that promote ingrowing of hairs.).

Yes: It is possible to get ingrown hairs without shaving. Shaving does make it more likely that you will get ingrown hairs. Use warm compresses on it so that it will drain but don't squeeze it. if it gets very large then see your doctor.

pimples on the back and sides of my head they get worse after shaving or buzz cut. i never got them but have been for 7 month they arent red/pus filled just pimple like bumps like ingrown hair almost.i miss shaving any advice on what it is? thanks?

Tough question: That must be quite distressing for you. Don't delay but have your doctor refer you to a Dermatologist as soon as possible.

Shave daily: You should shave daily. Your dermatologist can give medication to help control problem if there are still sores.

Not possible: There are no hair follciles in the vagina.  If you are thinking to the skin on the outside, there are hair follicles that can be inflammed without shaving.

What you have is inflammation of the hair folicule (sac) that is known as boil or medically as forunculitis. Why you get it is a good question. It indicates that local immune response is impaired. That can be seen in people with diabetes, psoriasis, or other systemic or local causes. Often no cause can be determined.
