Rib pain: Bilateral rib pain has many causes. It could be chest wall related or even from abdominal causes. The positional nature of your pain points to musculoskeletal conditions. Spinal issues like scoliosis and gait abnormalities are included. Some females who have pendulous breasts can have similar symptoms.

See a physician: the first step is to figure out what's causing your symptoms and it would be impossible to narrow down the diagnosis without more information and a physical exam.  see a doctor to help figure out what's wrong!

Could be: It could be referred pain from gas or it could be a pulled muscle between your ribs. It should go away in a couple days. If not, go to the dr.

Need more info: Rib pain is likely going to be musculoskeletal in origin but could also be referred. Factors that exacerbate or relieve pain or if it is reproducible could help narrow down the possibilities.

Gastritis: Acid related disease with irritation of either the stomach or the esophagus.  Possibly spasm of lung muscle as well.  More likely gastritis if fairly immediate.  Several hours after eating more consistent with gallbladder.

Possible but not: .....necessarily related:  Irritation of ribs' cartilage, joints or nerves. Intestinal gas trapped in the sharp bend in the colon.  Constipation. Spasm of the colon.  Inflammation of the pancreas.  Enlarged spleen. Stone or infection in the left kidney or upper part of the ureter. Ovarian problems with referred pain to the left diaphragm.  Inflammation of L. lower lung or left diaphragm.....

In your chest : Air goes in and out of your lungs.  Any trapping might cause one lung to inflate more than the other.  If you get a bleb which ruptures you get a pneumothorax.  If you have any shortness or breath or feel you have air trapping - see your doctor who will listen to your lungs and confirm this.

I have been fooled before with the diagnosis of "gas". Get checked for pain in chest and sides-asap.
