Evaluation: Try using over the counter gas relief medication. I have been fooled before with the diagnosis of "gas". Get checked for pain in chest and sides-asap.

In your chest : Air goes in and out of your lungs. Any trapping might cause one lung to inflate more than the other. If you get a bleb which ruptures you get a pneumothorax. If you have any shortness or breath or feel you have air trapping - see your doctor who will listen to your lungs and confirm this.

Maybe reflux, but...: If symptoms originate in esophagus (rather than adjacent structures), the most common cause of your complaint is gastroesophageal reflux possibly accompanied by esophageal dysmotility. However, my answer changes if you have underlying cardiac, pulmonary, or mediastinal conditions.
