See below: If there is infection, then antibiotics will be needed.  Depending on cause of ulcer, treatments are different. Many leg ulcers  are due to venous issues and may require compression and intervention on the improperly working vein.  Special dressings such as a boot of unna may help heal a leg ulcer.  Foot ulcers my be due to poor arterial circulation and wont heal until circulation is improved.

It depends.: It depends on the extent of the infection; if the infection is into a joint; how good/bad is the circulation in the leg? Can the patient undergo perhaps several long surgeries. Is the patient diabetic. Does the patient walk now - if not they probably won't walk after surgery so why risk ur life with several surgeries for a leg u don't really use. This issue is 2 complicated to answer in 400 words.

If you are over weight start working on reducing.

Ketogenic diet &amp; some  form of exercise.

Antibiotics/ Surgery: Bone infections are difficult to treat. Antibiotics are used to try to clear the infection. If this is not successful, surgery may be needed to remove the infected portion of bone.

Complicated: Need far more info to advise you.  If you actually have a fracture your doctors would have detected this and advised you accordingly.  Cellulitis can occur without an obvious break in the skin, but if there are bony abnormalities in association with this, yes it is possible that the bone was infected, but not enuf info.  See an id expert.

Hyperbaric Oxygen: There have been some reports of hyperbaric oxyegen chamber as being beneficial for lower extremity wounds. This would fall into the "alternative treatment" category for osteomyelitis (bone infections).
