I agree.: Concerning for DVT although there are many other things that can cause this - such as baker's cyst.  Bakers cyst is usually a bulge on medial side of knee especially noticeable with full extension of knee.

DVT: Calf DVT does not induce PE, however proximal extension will do from the distal femoral vein +- 30%.

Complications from calf DVT, may occur at any time.

: Do you have risk factors for DVT? Did you have a period of immobility, for example, like a long car or plane ride? If you are concerned about a DVT, have your doctor order an ultrasound of your leg to rule it out. You can have a DVT without any symptoms so an ultrasound is the only way to rule it out for sure. diag. w non occlusive dvt behind knee. once treated, can i get them again? taking xarelto, will i have to take it indefinitely? no history of dvts.

Can recur.: Dvt is usually not recurrent.  Blood tests can be done to see if you have a "clotting disorder" which predisposes you to make clot. If so, you may need to be on "blood-thinners" for life.   Risk of DVT is elevated in smokers and women on the pill.

Yes: Sure you can.  In some people there risks of coagulation (thinning the blood) like falling snd developing hematoma's or brain bleeds ids too great.  So, an inferior vena cava filter is umbrella'ed in to catch any thrombus heading north to the lungs.  There are several meds on te maket that are safe and do not require coag monitoring like Xarelto.

Post Thrombotic Syn: Within two years of their diagnosis, 27% - 47% of patients with a history of DVT develop post thrombotic syndrome, of which approximately 10% are associated with ulceration. The use of 30-40mm hg calf-high compression stockings for two years after DVT development will help reduce the risk of post thrombotic syndrome.

No: I do not think that they are related at all, but you need to see doctor for the itchy spot to get proper cream for it.

Many possibilities: Could still be a superficial blood clot was that evaluated when u had the sonogram?
Muscle trauma is another possibility.

Depends: Once a diagnosis has been  made,  and  anticoagulants(blood thinners)
have  been  started   and the patient's condition is  stable , the  md  may recommend ambulation (walking)  and  compression stockings  to prevent other clots. The stockings  are graduated in pressure  starting at the ankle. The md  most familiar with  you current  condition should be consulted on thigh high  or knee high hose.
