Coincidence: This seems very unlikely to be an adverse effect of the flu shot. I wonder if you have any known allergies to eggs or other components of the flu shot? There are a number of different flu shots made by different companies. If you are not getting better, you should call and let the doc know who gave you the shot. Seems more like a conjunctivitis that just happened to occur at the same time.

i am on sulfameth/trimethoprim 800/160. i got a flu shot two days ago. red skin, red eyes, chills, fever. will that go away in few days?

It should yes: You may well have a sulfonamide allergy (sulfa).  These reactions typically last several days.  Benadryl (diphenhydramine) otc..Say 25mg by mouth 2-3 times a day will help.  The situation is a little clouded by the flu shot.  The symptoms may be overlapping a bit.  The fever and chills may be your bodies response to the injection.

Timing: Which came first? Flu shot or neck pain? You describe very nicely neck muscle spasm which occurs in many different circumstances. Unless your flu shot was injected in your neck, a connection is unlikely. Neck sprain is by far the commonest source of those symptoms, but certainly not the only possibility. Flu symptoms are usually more diffuse, rather than on one side of the neck.

Muscle tenderness...: Mild problems with flu vaccine:
*soreness, redness, or swelling where the shot was given. Hoarseness. Sore, red or itchy eyes; cough. Fever. Aches , headache, itching, fatigue. If these problems occur, they usually begin soon after the shot and last 1-2 days to a week. You have a rare muscle aches and pain with decrease arm movement-it will improve!

my head was hurting before i got a flu shot was it safe to take  2 aleve (naproxen)  for the pain? i think i slept wrong?

Yes it's OK: You are ok treating your headache. However, there have been some studies which indicated that use of anti-inflammatories, even tylenol (acetaminophen) within 24 hours of an immunization may decrease the effectiveness of the shot.  You might consider using non-pharmacologic methods: massage, a heating pad or pack of ice (whichever temperature seems to work best for you.)  or try taking a better nap today.

i received a flu shot yesterday and a few hours after the shot i was having neck pain. went to sleep and now i cant move my head without having pain shoot down and up my spine. is this something to worry about? no history of spinal injury?

Nerve inflammation: If there has been no injury your may have strained your neck and nerve pathways are affected. The flu vaccination is less likely to be associated. Please follow up with your PCP, take Motrin for relief.

got the flu shot friday and over the weekend i was having minor seizure activity. blurred vision, eye roll etc. can this be from the flu shot?

Mgt: This should definitely  be reported to your PCP. This needs to be noted/reported. It may or may not be related. It would be very unusual for your seizure to be related directly to the flu vaccination itself. If you are allergic to eggs for example, an allergic reaction may occur.

Sinus infection?: Pain behind your eyes is typical for a sinus infection. The nausea, sweats, chills and body aches could be signs of a bacterial or viral infection, including the flu or mono. The flu shot protects 50-70% of healthy adults, so you can still get the flu, which is a virus. If it's a bacterial infection of your sinuses, Bactrim (sulfamethoxazole and trimethoprim) likely isn't enough. Either way, you're very ill, so please call your doc!

See below: Could be a combination of the following: 
1.Flu vaccine side effects and antibiotic use-gi upset/stomach ache.  
2. A viral illness with cold and stomach symptoms. 
3. Doubt due to impetigo unless lesions are spreading/worsening.
Re check with your doc if symptomatic care is not improving your status.
