True: High doses of ascorbic acid (vitamin C 3000 mg daily for three days) can induce a period. Don't use this if pregnant! Hypervitaminosis C deprives the uterus of progesterone. This causes the lining of the uterus to slough off. Some people experience side effects such as kidney stones and diarrhea. In order to prevent side effects, drink lots of water. Try to hydrate enough to keep your urine clear.

Some thoughts...: In a woman with regular periods, some causes of a late period include: excessive weight loss or weight gain, increased exercising, emotional stress, having an illness, traveling, medicines (like birth control pills), hormonal imbalances, etc…  Seeing a doctor is a good idea if symptoms are persistent, recurring, or worrisome. Pregnancy is the common cause of a missed period, if sexually active.

See your doctor to discuss more traditional meds if your vit supplements do not help.

Dexamethasone: I do not know of any vitamins that will affect your menstrual cycle but see that you are taking dexamethasone. This is a powerful medicine with many side effects that is known to disrupt your menstrual cycle (as well as other hormones). I would use this medicine with great caution and discuss other options with your doctor. Consider acupuncture and herbal alternatives.

the role of vitamin D supplementation is quite controversial and based on abundant research it seems to do little for just about everything
to my knowledge there is little reason to think it could help with your periods.
Supplementation is generally thought to be safe, but some studies in the  elderly suggest it may lead to more falls!
