Likely: Whoever ordered the blood draw is the best to interpret the results.   I'm not familiar with measuring B6 routinely so I'm not sure how accurate or reliable the test is.

i accidentally took 500x the recommended amount of vitamin b-6. is this dangerous? i've been doing it for three days and gotten sick.

Only if continued: B6 is the only b vitamin known to be toxic, but one has to take at least 250 mg (and usually at least 500 mg) a day for several months before this occurs; the problem it causes is peripheral neuropathy and it is reversible after you stop it.

B6 deficiency: The deficiency is relatively rare. Older age, alcoholism, coexisting other vitamin b deficiencies, dialysis, and certain drugs can all increase the risk of deficiency.

No.: There is actually evidence that vitamin d deficiency may worsen diabetes.  Therefore vitamin d should helop prevent a high blood sugar.

No: There is more than one way for homocysteine level to be elevated. Homocysteine levels can be measured directly and you should talk to your doctor if testing is warranted. In any case, folic acid is more effective in reducing homocysteine levels.

what would cause high levels of b vitamins on blood test in someone malnourished ?

As a direct result: of being malnourished, if the major source of nutrition was animal products (particularly liver), that could possibly, maybe be a cause.  Vitamin b levels may increase during the "refeeding" process especially if there's also supplementation with Vitamins A &amp; C.  Hope this helps!  Dr. Anne

i had blood tests and i have low iron levels (9.9 and apparently its supposed to be over 20). im struggling with constant fatigue. should i be testing vitamin b 12 as well in case its not actually and iron problem?

Fix the Iron First: Low iron levels can cause fatigue. B12 deficiency can too, but not as often in developed countries. Though, you might not be getting enough in your diet if you are vegan or not absorbing enough from your diet. What other testing was done? Thyroid levels? Metabolic panel? Ask your doctor!
