Endoscopic : Endoscopic ultrasound can be used to diagnose cancer and get biopsies. Regular ultrasound is not so useful in this case.

Ultrasound: can identify kidney tumors, but is generally not useful for stomach tumors.  Air around the kidney would be an unusual finding, are you sure they weren't referring to bowel gas?   Air in and around the kidney can by seen in emphysematous pyelonephritis, a severe, potentially life-threatening, necrotizing infection.

my 7 year old  has been having moderate to severe belly button pain and vomiting for 6 months the symptoms come and go ultrasound show swollen kidney air around kidney and possible blockage could this be any type of cancer or stomach cancer thanks?

Unlikely: Stomach cancer - no....very rare in kids and would not present this way. There are other cancers that could be in vicinity of kidney causing symptoms you describe.  Time to finish the evaluation with abdominal CT scan and go from there.  Remember though, cancer in children very rare. More likely other kidney problem leading to obstruction and his symptoms

Upper GI endoscopy, barium swallow, ct scans can be helpful with difficult diagnosis.

Not very common: Stomach or gastric cancers have decreased in the US since the 1940's. There are some stomach cancers however associated with H. pylori stomach infections. Smoked foods, excess alcohol intake, and cigarette smoking may be associated with stomach cancer. It is more common in other countries than the US.

i have an endoscopy for barretts every 2/3 years. can this also detect stomach cancer?

: If the endoscopy extends to examination of the stomach it would be useful for detecting stomach cancer. Talk to your doctor to ensure that the examination extends to the stomach and is not limited to the esophagus.

Depends: Would need more information on tumor size, location, cell type, and surgical margins but stage 1 would have the best results & best survival statistics. May likely need repeat endoscopy & biopsies in the future to watch.

Unlikely.: Symptoms include nausea, early satiety, persistent vomiting, bleeding and anemia. The symptoms that predict the possibility of gastric cancer are dysphagia, weight loss and age&gt;55 years. Because of your symptoms and your age some other pathology is more possible than gastric cancer, a physician will test for any other thing before.

Multiple risk factor: Age > 50, male sex, tobacco use, eating too much salt, helicobacter pylori chronic infection, blood type a, family history.

Not really: While certain ethnic groups have a higher incidence, it is thought to be due more to environmental influences than hereditary factors.
