Not recommended: It is meant for minor cuts and scraps on the skin, not in the mouth.  If you put it in the mouth, you will swallow most of it.

my daughter(16m) got a cut on the crown of her nose. i put a little neosporin for kids on it. would it harm her if she got it in her eyes or mouth?

Not harmful: Although the package may say that it is recommended for external use only, the antibiotics present in Neosporin can be prescribed orally and the ointment base is similar to chapped lip products and  prescription eye ointments.  Do have your daughter evaluated for infection if the area becomes red and swollen.

my tooth is broke and it's sharp on site and it has cut my lip on the inside of my mouth and has created a sore now and i have been putting peroxide on it to clean it but it just keeps hurting i'm wondering is it okay to put neosporin on it

Not recommended: To heal the sore in your mouth, first step is to stop the abrasion from the sharp tooth.  Your dentist can smooth the area or apply a filling.    Although safe to use neosporin, the mouth sore will heal fine with warm salt water rinses and you can apply oragel or benzocaine in orabase for pain relief.

Lip wound care: Lacerations or sutured wounds can have topical antibiotics like neosporin or Bacitracin applied as long as the person does not have allergies to the products being used. The frequency of use is usually three times per day to prevent the site from drying or dessicating.

May be skin allergy!:  Neosporin is a common OTC skin antibiotic, but it has a moderate incidence of  cutaneous (skin) sensitization/ allergy. Cleanse the cut site with clean water, stop using Neosporin, and use a different skin antibiotic, such as Bacitracin. Avoid use of Neosporin in the future! See your family MD if it doesn’t clear up.

No: Neosporin is not meant to be used internally. See your doctor and get something like orabase prescribed if appropriate.  All the best.

my son had a tick bite. i had to carefully remove it.. head and all and put alcohol to clean, neosporin and itch cream will it be ok?

Probably OK: You've taken out the tick, so you're probably ok. Even if it was a lyme disease-carrying tick, it would have had to have remained attached to your son for at least 24 hours to transmit the disease. If you don't know how long it was attached, you should see your doctor for lyme titres (one now, one in a couple of weeks) to be sure.

my bf developed a cut/abrasion underneath his glans/head of his penis. he put neosporin and it healed. but last night it opened up again. what to do?

Herpes?: He should go to his dermatologist and have a culture performed for the hsv-2 virus. If he is positive, there is a very effective prophylactic pill which he can take which can stop these breakouts from occurring. It can also greatly reduce his potential from spreading it to a sex partner.

the skin on & around a patch of my upper lip is very dry, flaky, sometimes itchy, no matter what i put on it. for a couple weeks i've tried everything. neosporin, lip balm, even an anti-fungal as i suspected it may be that.

Dry skin: Likely a form of eczema which may respond to prescription steroid cream.

Tough to say: Without an exam and testing, it is really impossible to say, but the fact that it improves with antibiotic meds is encouraging for an abrasion like wound.  Get checked for the definitive answer.
