for insomnia, is trazodone at a 25 mg dose adequate?  at  50 mg i got a 'high'.

Variable: Doses of Trazodone needed for insomnia are variable, and depend on the person plus other medications being taken.  Please discuss this "high" with your prescribing physician. The 25mg dose may be helpful -- if you've tried it and it works, you have your answer.

Tired ?: Making you tired all day... Stop it. 
 
It helps you to sleep.. Sws  improves 
but tired. 
Get tired by physical exercise.. That will help you sleep.

Ask your doctor: Can sometimes interact together to cause worsening drowsiness - see below:

Check in w your doc: Neither trazodone or Clonidine are associated with increased hunger or appetite.  Perhaps the meds are given in the evening at a time when your child's vyvanse (lisdexamfetamine) is wearing off.  Check in with your child's doctor re appetite changes.

Talk to doc: I and probally neither anyone else on this site are going to advise you to take another 1/2 of your aprescribed medications due to not knowing your medical history and other meds.We do give higher doses at times but that is what your physician with you should discusss.

i feel extremely tired in the afternoon when i get home but am unable to sleep. i'm taking trazodone at night. might these two things be related?

Firstly, the drug itself has a hangover effect that might come out after your morning wake-up surge (cortisol, etc) has spent itself.Next,your eating habits  (what you eat, what time,etc),whether you take caffeine or other stimulants, whether you take any other medications, how you are psychologically (depressed?)and finally, any drug affects the quality of your sleep.Seek a natural sleep

i had nyquill and trazodone (50 mg) last night. i also take sertraline  (100 mg). i feel very weird today. its like a "high" ?

Nyquil: nyquil, contained benadryl (diphenhydramine) which is anticholinergic, which can make you feel goofy and disconnected.this is probably what us making you feel like this.

taken effexor (venlafaxine) 375mg for 2 years.  i'm just now realizing how i can't sleep w/out taking trazodone.  is it bc my effexor (venlafaxine) prescription is too high?

It's possible: Your antidepressant can be so stimulating that it keeps you awake at night. Discuss this with your doctor. It may be reasonable to try a lower maintenance dose of your Effexor (venlafaxine). However, your doctor needs to be involved in the decision. Best wishes!

i'm on 100mg trazodone, 100mg zoloft (sertraline) 1000mg depakote 2mg risperal & seroquel xr 150mg at night. i feel high 30minutes later should this be happening?

No: I would talk to your psychiatrist, i suspect your blood pressure is either getting low on all of that trazodone and quetiapine or you are becoming slightly delirious on the two antipsychotics.  If you have one of those battery operated blood pressure cuffs you may want to check your blood pressure about 30 minutes to an hour after you take those medicines if you are even able to stay awake.
