i had oral thrush or candida in mouth, ie tongue, accompanied with sore throat.doctor prescribed cehpalexin to treat sore throat.after this my oral thrush became worse.is this a reason to revist the doctor and to ask to stop treatment with cephalexin?

: Oral thrush, candidiasis, is a fungal infection, an overgrowth of Candida yeast in the mouth. It affects all ages, including adults. While commonly seen in infants and individuals with weakened immune systems, it can still occur in healthy adults. Common symptoms of thrush is a sore throat, the presence of white spots or patches on the tongue, inner cheeks, or other areas of the mouth.

i've had an extremely sore throat for 3days today it looks like thrush on my tongue. will it go away by itself? also white strep like bumps in throat.

Uncertain: For significantly sore throat w swollen tonsils / lymph nodes – see physician &amp; get a strep throat test &amp; culture. Antibiotics are imperative for Strep Throat.  Try saltwater gargles. Mix tsp of salt in 8 oz of warm water – gargle w this several times/day. You can gargle w Aloe Vera juice a couple of times per day. A mix of chamomile tea w honey &amp; a small amt of lemon juice helps.

See ENT: A positive throat culture for Candida may just be normal since this one of the flora in our mouth. If you are getting recurrent thrush, you need to get checked for diabetes and perhaps immune defect.

HIV: A sore throat by itself is not a a sign of hiv. If you are concerned you were exposed to HIV you should get tested. Testing can be done anonymously at many state health departments so if you are worried better to be  tested and find out. 
The signs of HIV may not always be easy for you to tell without testing for the virus.

:  Your doctor can get a specimen by scraping your tongue or cheek and send it for testing in order to confirm or rule out oral candidiasis.
