Sounds in ears: Please see your primary care doctor.  He/she may refer you to an ENT doc.  Your ears need to be examined.  Could be something as simple as built up ear wax, or perhaps tinnitus.  Your doc will help.  Peace and good health.

That's one of the characteristics of pain... how one feels or perceives pain is influenced by one's state of mind, one's state of emotions. It can go the other way too... such as in a fight-or-flight response, where you don't feel the pain at all, as you're running from that raccoon chasing you.

TMJ: This may be TMJ symptoms.  The sound is from the disc in the joint popping back into place as your jaw opens.  The pain is from the nerves in the tissue that are stretched and pinched when the disc is pushed out of place.
