Usually no: A planned and properly done tracheotomy usually doesn't lead to future respiratory problems.  However, tracheotomies done in emergency situations may be linked to future respiratory problems unless the emergency trach is revised soon after the initial trach.  Many patients have had tracheotomies and then have had the cannula removed without respiratory problems down the road.

Scar tissue: Scar tissue can occur post incision after any operation in the process of healing. Minimally invasive surgical techniques can mitigate that problem such as Laparoscopy for assessment of the chronic pelvic pain.

have lump of scar tissue size of marble at shoulder blade since shoulder injury 2 years ago. no pain to touch. cause problem? need to remove? how?

Have this checked: It is my advice that you have this lump checked out. It may very well be benign. However cancer can develop on scar tissue and this can generally be cured if treated properly. I suggest having a biopsy taken of the tissue for a pathological exam. Please make an appointment at a clinic to begin to follow this up.

is a d&c dangerous? i have to get a polyp removed & i have pcos but i want kids in the future. will the d&c cause scar tissue or problems later on?

Not usually: A D &amp; C or a hysteroscopy and D &amp; C are often performed to remove an Endometrial Polyp.  There are risks as in any surgery.  Scarring of the uterine lining is one of them, but does not usually occur.  A polyp can also interfere with conception, is an abnormal growth, and should be removed.  Usually a D &amp; C will not cause later problems, but should always be reported.

can scar tissue after septoplasty block nostrils worse than the original deviation? i seem to scar really easily. i have a horrible scar on my arm from a previous, minor surgery. if i have a septoplasty, could the scar be bad enough to cause worse problem

It's : It's quite rare for the septoplasty incision to heal with a thickened or keloidal scar. This is even the case with people who've had this type of scarring elsewhere.

Shoulder: Depending on what part of the shoulder blade it is located on it could be some calcification that has developed after the contusion that occurred, probably the best person to see would be a orthopedic surgeon who could further evaluate this concern, they could possibly get x-rays if indicated or obtain an MRI to make sure this is nothing more then post from attic scar tissueor calcification. Not all women: Those are potential negative consequences as a result of a c/s, but most women do not experience any of these issues. Numbness at the site of the scar is probably more common than the other things listed, which are rare. If you are concerned about anything, call and see your OBGYN.

Usually...: ...By scar tissue fusing together layers that should be able to slide against each other. This is called "adhesions, " and the pulling of one layer against another causes discomfort.

Yes: Tanning can make a scars appearance worse due to the fact that scar tissue has less melanin than normal tissue.

Foreign body: Implants are foreign bodies in or systems. The normal response of the body is to wall off foreign objects by encasing them in scar tissue.
